About me
I didn't set out to be a career coach. But it must be a calling, because it found me.
For most of my early career, I was deep in management consulting leading government tech projects, managing complex database development, and navigating a world that demands precision and strategy. I was good at my job, but I wasn’t happy.
Thankfully, I found a way to apply what I learned in consulting to something totally different.
Friends started coming to me with their resumes. Then with interview prep. Then with their friends' resumes. Every time I helped someone, something happened: they got the interview. They moved to the next round. They got the offer.
I was busy. My career was demanding. So I started charging, thinking that would slow things down.
It didn't. It made it a business.
How Inspired Path began
What started as a way to protect my time turned into something I couldn't ignore. Referrals kept coming. A friend and fellow resume writer, Donnie, became a collaborator, and together we launched the first version of Inspired Path. We focused on resume writing and coaching people through job applications.
Then the pandemic hit.
Suddenly I had clients who weren't just looking for a better opportunity - they needed out. Jobs that had felt uncomfortable became unsafe. The urgency was real, and I learned very quickly that resumes alone weren’t going to be enough. I had to evolve. Inspired Path grew from a resume service into something more comprehensive: a coaching business focused on career strategy.
The chapter that changed everything
In mid-2020, I came out as trans.
I started advocating for trans voices at my Big 4 firm, trying to make space where there wasn't much. It mattered, but it was exhausting. I made the move into commercial tech, and quickly found myself leading an LGBTQ+ ERG at my next firm. Eventually, I made the leap I'd been working toward: into a FAANG company, in an industry I'd been trying to break into, while navigating a transition that touched every part of my life.
And I realized something.
If I could do all of that - pivot industries, transition at work, build a new professional identity from the ground up, and come out the other side with a career I was actually proud of - I could help other people do it, too. People like me. People who've never had a roadmap for this, because no one built one for them.
Why I do this work
I still work full-time in tech, and I’m not ready to give it up yet because it’s given me an insight into an industry that’s driving change everywhere else. But even at great companies, things aren’t set up for people like me, and I want to help other people navigate what I’ve had to do alone.
My services are for everyone who's been underestimated, not just queer and trans folks. But I’m here to show you how your struggles are actually secret strengths. That’s what I offer that’s hard to find anywhere else. That, and I’ve experienced the corporate world from both sides of the gender binary.
I know what it's like to navigate a career while also navigating your identity. To walk into rooms that weren't designed for you and figure out, in real time, how to own them anyway. To wonder whether to be out at work, how to handle a name change professionally, how to find employers who are genuinely safe, not just performatively inclusive.
You're not going to find another career coach who has walked this exact path. I'm not here to hand you a generic playbook. I'm here to help you write your own.
